My primary work is with the pastors and directors of the ministry teams, offering support and coordination. I also give direct leadership to the Cornerstone Endowment of FPC and the Adult Enrichment/Senior Adult ministries.
San Antonio Texas is where I lived until I went to college. When I say “I am going home for the holidays” – I mean the Alamo City. I was surrounded by a multi-generation of support and faith. Church and family filled most of my non-school time. In that setting of a community of faith I sensed early that I would serve in a local church, as early as a high school student. Often summer jobs were in youth ministry in both large and small churches. I went to Junior College in my hometown, went away to central Texas to Howard Payne University, followed by M.Div. at Southwestern Baptist Seminary and a D.Min. at Austin Presbyterian Seminary. My ministry positions have included serving as youth pastor, discipleship pastor, Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor and Counseling and as VP of Development at Howard Payne University and later as Chaplain. I came to FPC in 2005 and was ordained as a PCUSA pastor in 2006.
Married Angie Heston in November of 1976 in Conroe, Texas. We have three grown children all married and a bus load of grandchildren, all in the Houston area.

Angie and I love to travel especially places in a biblical and/or ministry partner setting. I also like to do “survival of the fittest” landscaping (if it lives it stays, if not it is gone). I find satisfaction in "repurposing" discarded antique (or just old) furniture that needs to be repaired and restored before it goes to a new home.
Family & Friends – we are attracted to people of all ages and find each stage of life interesting. Age is not relevant, we all have interesting stories and can learn from each other and find support from one another. I enjoy teaching, reading and sharing with people who may be going through tough life issues.
