Africa Renewal Ministries’ Mwangaza Children’s Choir will be visiting Houston again in January 2013. This gifted and inspirational group of young children from East Africa will be touring the southern United States in the spring of 2013 and will begin their choir tour in Houston. FPC and member families will host the Mwangaza Children’s Choir from January 10–16. The choir will participate in our morning worship services on Sun. January 13 then perform a concert in Grand Hall at 7pm. There is no charge for the concert and a love offering for Mwangaza’s ministry will be taken at the end of the concert. Please Note: Dinner prior to the concert has been cancelled. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online by clicking here. Mwangaza Choir will have music cds and merchandise available for purchase on the evening of the concert.
The Mwangaza Children's Choir, is a wonderful group of 21 hopeful and talented children, ages 8-12, who admirably represent the orphaned and poverty-stricken youth of Uganda. Several of the choir children are from Namutamba, Uganda, the village that FPC has a sister church relationship with and where over 200 children are sponsored by members of FPC’s congregation.
The choir, which is based in Gaba, Uganda, tours as a ministry outreach of Africa Renewal Ministries to share a special message of hope through original Ugandan song and dance. The tour in 2013 will be the fifth time that Mwangaza has toured the United States. The choir looks forward to visiting Houston and FPC and sharing their gift of music and dance.
