Houston Bridges: Welcome Party for International Students

Houston Bridges: Welcome Party for International Students

Aug 18|11:30am - 4:30pm
City Tour and Welcome Party An opportunity to mobilize and grow in God's heart for the foreigner: There are many ways people can participate and serve. We are also looking for specific people who would like to volunteer as a "Welcome Party Host." Mainly, these are people who are willing to connect with these students on a regular basis after the welcome party.  On August 18th, you can be a part of welcoming hundreds of new international students! This is our most exciting event of the year, introducing Bridges to students from around the world and an incredible opportunity for you to meet these bright, future world leaders.  We are asking volunteers to arrive at 11:30 am, and we will be finished by 4:30pm. There are several ways you can serve - from helping with food serving to intentionally befriending and following up with them. You can give a gift to a lucky new student, even if you are unable to come to the event yourself. Please sign up at the registration link above today! If you know you want to serve as a student host, please also fill out this survey. About Bridges International   Bridges International is a caring community of Christ-followers committed to serve, promote social connections and engage in spiritual conversations with international students so that students become leaders internationally. We are a community of internationals and Americans who desire to welcome and support international students while they are in the U.S.  At the University of Houston, Rice, and UH Clearlake, we provide opportunities such as a conversation clubs, service opportunities, seminars that address relevant issues, and small groups to help students connect and grow together. If you are an international student from another Houston school, visit this page. Many of us have found our inspiration for these things from Jesus, but we welcome people from all nationalities, cultures, and faiths. In fact, we think diversity is one of our strengths!
