Our spring study will be Priscilla Shirer's Discerning the Voice of God.  Discover the root of clarity and communication with our Lord, humble obedience. Learn how surrender unlocks His blessings for us, centers us in His will and helps us discern His voice in everyday life. Our time will consist of home study, teaching DVDs and small group discussion and prayer.

First Place for Health is an inter-generational community who commits to supporting each other in our health and spiritual goals. We combine scripture study and current medical research on weight management to lead people to make successful choices. Our Spring study will be Forever Changed by Grace Fox. This study will show us how our thoughts impact our attitudes, emotions, and behaviors and how essential it is for us to develop godly thinking patterns in order to be all that God created us to be.  There is a charge for registration and study materials. Houston Welcomes Refugees Orientation

Houston Welcomes Refugees believes that “as Christians, it is our job to love those that come to our city out of the overflow of the love we have received from Christ” and therefore strives to ease the resettlement process for refugees with hope, honor, and love. In support of their efforts, FPC will host a training orientation for volunteers desiring to welcome and serve refugees arriving in our city. Orientation covers information on refugees, the refugee resettlement process , why this organization exists, and how you can partner with them to make a difference. First Moms

First Moms

First Moms invites women in the throes of motherhood to come - just as you are! Gather with other mothers in an informal and casual setting to study and encourage each other in God’s grace. Share joys and concerns with mentor moms who have been there. In First Moms, our time consists of a weekly lesson, small group discussion, and a time for group prayers and praises. We also regularly take part in mission projects together. This spring we will study Liturgy of the Ordinary: Sacred Practices in Everyday Life by Tish Harrison Warren. Childcare is available for infants through Kindergarten for $5 per mom per week. Newborns are welcome in the classroom if desired. For more information or to register contact women@fpchouston.org.

Women of the Word is a Bible study group for women of all ages and in all seasons of life. We meet together to learn, study and discuss God's word and take part in a strong Christian community. In seeking to deepen and renew our relationship with Christ, we will study Seeking Him: Experiencing the Joy of Personal Revival, by well-known bible study teacher, Nancy Leigh DeMoss. This interactive study will help us examine our hearts in light of His Word and lead us into the real joy of a closer walk with Him. Our pastors and FPC teachers, including JoNell Gerland, will lend insight into important subjects such as repentance, forgiveness, holiness and our personal devotional life. We'd love for you to join us!Childcare is available for infants through Kindergarten aged children.

Over a meal, we watch a 20-minute video then gather in small group discussions to grapple with how Christian teaching helps or hinders our life experience. Everyone is welcome in this safe discussion space—whether skeptic, atheist, agnostic, non-religious, de-churched, post-churched, or spiritual.
