Women's Fellowship Circles

Women's Fellowship Circles(WFC) at FPC

What Are Women Fellowship Circles?

Our nine circles meet at FPC or in homes once a month on different days and at different times. We share in missions, Bible study, and friendship.  The Bible studies are led by circle members who are taught by church pastors and staff on a monthly basis. We also have a mission focus each month that helps local ministries such as Main Street Ministries, The Nehemiah Center, the Seafarers' Center at the Port of Houston and the Harris Health Services supporting Ben Taub.

WFC's Fall Gatherings?

11:00am-2:00pm | Wednesday, September 12, 2018 | Fellowship Hall | Speaker: Mel Birdwell

*$20 for Lunch and Program with Advanced Registration ($25 at the door)

Mel Birdwell is the wife of Lt. Col. (Ret) Brian Birdwell, a survivor of the terrorist’s attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 and is currently a Texas State Senator representing Senate District 22. Mel is a graduate of Kansas State University and a proud former Army wife.

The Department of Defense awarded her the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal in 2004. She has served as the Director for both Meals on Wheels and the Congregate Senior Nutrition Programs for Leavenworth County, Kansas and Pierce County, Washington.

After the tornado that devastated Hood County in 2013, Mel spent the next 19 months helping to rebuild the community. She currently spends her time serving as the President of the Senate Ladies Club, volunteering in the local community, and quilting. Until recently she managed the nonprofit ministry, Face the Fire Ministries, assisting burn survivors, of which the Birdwell’s established after 9/11. Most importantly, Brian describes her “as his greatest ambassador”.

The Birdwell’s have one son, Matt, and his wonderful wife, Ann Marie, who are the parents of the most magnificent baby boy, Elijah. The Birdwell’s also have two very naughty dogs, DayZ and Riley.

Bring a friend, join us in fellowship, and enjoy a delicious, seated meal.

Circles

Small groups of women (called “circles”) representing different ages and stages of life meet once a month to build friendships, study the Bible as it relates to our lives today and participate in mission projects to support those in need locally and throughout the world.

If you are interested in finding a group of women who serve, study, love and support one another, please contact Amy McCarty at amyoncall@gmail.com or contact a circle leader directly to find a group for you!
