Advent 2022

During Advent, we look back to the first coming of Christ while also looking forward to the second coming of Christ. In God’s grand story of redemption, today we live in the in-between and the now-but-not yet. We remember that Jesus, who was faithful to fulfill the promises of God in His first coming, will be faithful to return and complete the promises of God. In this season, we look back and praise God for what He has done, while also looking forward to His return, when He will relieve the groaning of all creation and make all things new. This season reminds us that our hope is in Jesus Christ, and moves us to worship while we wait for His return.

Advent Missions Market

This year, FPC will host the 21st annual Advent Missions Market on Sundays during Advent. The Advent Missions Market offers unique crafts from artisans around the world that make wonderful Christmas gifts. In addition, the sale of the items provides support for our global ministry partners while raising awareness of the ministries’ vital work. Advent Celebration

Stay for lunch and activities for the whole church family following worship on December 4. There will be crafts and games for kids, Christmas cookies to decorate, photo booths for friends and family, and Advent Missions Market shopping for all!

Messiah Sing-Along

Join us for the longest-running Handel’s Messiah Sing-Along in the city. Hundreds of singers from all around Houston make up the choir, joining orchestra and soloists in this Christmas tradition. Get there early to get a good seat! Music scores will be provided. Free admission.

Christmas Music Sunday

The First Presbyterian Church of Houston Chancel Choir, soloists, and instrumentalists present, “On Christmas Night,” a musical Christmas Card. This collection of Old English and modern carols includes bright and cheerful settings interspersed with memorable and poignant moments. This musical montage will be accompanied by a professional instrumental ensemble, harp, and the magnificent FPC Aeolian-Skinner organ.
