Advent is the season of holy longing—when we remember how the world once waited for the Messiah to come, even as we wait for Him to come again. This Advent, our sermon series, “Light in the Darkness,” explores that story through the prophet Isaiah’s ancient promises, the Gospels’ witness to Christ’s birth, and Revelation’s vision of His return.
Isaiah spoke to a people living in darkness, yet daring to hope for light—a ruler who would bring justice, healing, and peace. That hope took flesh in Jesus Christ, the true light of the world, born in Bethlehem and anointed to proclaim good news to the poor. Through His life, death, and resurrection, God’s redemption has begun; through His return, it will be completed.
