Young Adults

Young Adults

The young adult community at FPC exists to carry and embody the good news about Jesus’s resurrection to Houston and the world. We practice rhythms of spiritual growth, praise our Creator, and pursue the good of our city together. Our group, ages 20s-30s, includes a variety of life stages ranging from singles, married, those with young kids, young professionals, and college and graduate students. The goal of our core practices—prayer, Scripture study, worship, and service—is to cultivate a unique community of people who imitate our Savior and witness to His deep love in and for the world. All this is lived out of an identity rooted in the completed work of Christ on our behalf. We belong to Jesus Christ, and in that freedom, we live life with God for the world. We hope you will join us to find relational refreshment and rich study of Scripture through Sunday worship, social gatherings, and spiritual rhythms.

Small Groups

If you are interested in joining a young adult-specific small group community, please email youngadults@fpchouston.org and include Sara Buskirk at sbuskirk@fpchouston.org. We’ll get you connected!

Discipleship Groups

D-Groups are gender-specific groups of 3-4 people who commit to meet regularly to support, encourage, and offer accountability to one another. Beyond just Bible study in a flexible small group, D-Groups seek to form an intimate, covenant community where believers can deeply and consistently walk beside one another in joy and trial, in practicing spiritual disciplines, and in confession, in order to spur one another on to bear more spiritual fruit in living in communion with God. If you are interested in learning more about growth and connection through D-Groups, please contact Sara Buskirk at sbuskirk@fpchouston.org.

Prayer Needs

We want to pray for you! If you have any needs in this season, please fill out our request form, and we will bring your petitions and praises to the Lord. We would love to pray for you by name, but you are welcome to submit requests anonymously as well. All submissions are confidential and only shared with young adult staff for the purpose of prayer.

Community Needs

We are also pursuing the good of others in our community and city in ways that we can in this time. Please let us know if you’d like to be added to a list of people who are ready to help as needs come in.
