Married Life

Married Couples

We believe Christian marriage is a unique relationship created by God to be a witness to the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is vital that Christians who are married view their relationship with the utmost care and attention.

FPC’s marriage ministry is designed to help strengthen couples’ relationship with God and one another. We are committed to providing appropriate resources to help, encourage, challenge and support married couples at FPC.

Marriage Conference
Fri | Jan 20 | 6–9 PM & Sat | Jan 21 | 8:45–3:30 PM

Do you want to feel known and loved by your spouse? Through looking at Genesis 1–3 and hearing practical illustrations from teachers Jim and Sara Singleton’s own marriage, we will learn how strong love results from a greater attachment to God and our spouses. Meals and childcare provided. For more information about the event, visit fpchouston.org/marriage-conference.

Marriage Beginnings Class
Sun | Feb 19–Mar 19 | 12–1:30 PM | Living Room

If you’re considering engagement, engaged, or newly married we encourage you to join us for this six-week Sunday School class. Marriage is a gift from God and we place a high value on the importance and necessity of preparing for this relationship, before and after marriage.

Whether you are considering marriage, engaged, or have been married for only a few months or years, this class is beneficial to all as we work towards glorifying our Lord in the way we love our future or current spouse.

For more information on the Marriage Beginning seminar and our other Equipping Seminars, please contact Catie Smith, director of parenting and marriage ministries, at csmith@fpchouston.org.

Mentoring

This portion of the ministry will focus on couple-to-couple relationships, encouraging couples who want to discuss marriage issues within a smaller, more confidential relationship.

Mentor couples will bring with them many years of married life and will provide an encouraging, open and honest setting for discussion and encouragement.

Please contact Catie Smith at csmith@fpchouston.org for more information.

Counseling Services

Married couples frequently experience challenges in their relationship, and at times need outside help to get them back on track. We offer confidential, pastoral counseling with the option of further, professional counseling as needed.

Please contact Catie Smith at csmith@fpchouston.org for more information.
