We go into the world to share the gospel as individuals in our circles of influence and as a body in Houston and beyond. We provide strategic opportunities locally and globally to share the Gospel and also equip the Body of Christ to share their faith in their daily lives.

First Presbyterian Church of Houston is affiliated with the Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians (ECO). This means that its theology is Reformed as expressed in the Essential Tenets and the Book of Confessions and its governance is Presbyterian—ruled by elders—as defined in the Polity and Discipline of ECO, all under the authority of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.
Our Session meets monthly. Meeting minutes can be accessed one month following the meeting.
Our Elders are individuals who love Jesus Christ, have strong faith, and who are committed to him as their Lord and Savior. Elders are charged with oversight of the spiritual life of our congregation—leading, governing, and if necessary, discipline of its members (Covenant Partners). A new class of ruling Elders is elected each year and serve for a three-year term. Three classes of Elders comprise the body of Ruling Elders at any time.
