Marriage Goals: Strong Love through Greater Attachment

April 7 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Do you want to feel more known and loved in your marriage? Do you know that God embedded marriage in the story of creation and redemption? Beginning March 24, join the Cornerstone Sunday School class as they host a study of Jim and Sara Singleton’s marriage conference, Stronger Love Through Greater Attachment, and learn how strong love results from a greater attachment to God and our spouses.

About Jim & Sara Singleton

Jim and Sara Singleton have been married for 44 years and are both teachers and pastors. They have two grown children and three grandchildren, the youngest of whom is adopted as their son.

Jim recently retired from ten years of teaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, near Boston, where he was the Associate Professor of Pastoral Leadership and Evangelism. He now works half-time for Leighton Ford Ministries, coaching and discipling pastors. Prior to seminary teaching, Jim pastored four congregations across the US and was a founder of ECO. Jim attended seminary at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary and received his doctoral degree in church history from Boston University School of Theology

After practicing nursing for twenty years, Sara heard God’s call to vocational ministry and attended Austin Theological Seminary for her Master’s in Divinity. She first served as associate pastor of Marriage Ministry and Spiritual Formation at First Presbyterian Church Colorado Springs while Jim served as the senior pastor. She last served as the pastor of Old South Presbyterian in Newburyport, MA, founded by George Whitefield and the location where he is buried (just below the pulpit!) Now, she provides spiritual direction locally and long-distance and has a two-volume audio devotional, Hearts on Pilgrimage and Continuing the Journey. She was the founding director of Elder Leadership Institute (ELI) to support the theological and spiritual growth of ruling elders in the church, a resource used today by ECO churches.

Together, Jim and Sara enjoy hiking and even Cross Country skiing.
