World Communion Sunday Offering to Bless Houston Welcomes Refugees and PLI

October 2, 2022 @ 8:15 am - 12:00 pm

World Communion Sunday is a day to remember the body of Christ worldwide as we gather together to share the Lord’s Supper. The world is now here as Houston is the most international city in the nation. Recognizing the importance of ministries serving the influx of refugees to our city, this year’s offering recipients will be FPC’s priority local partner, Houston Welcomes Refugees (HWR), and a newer partner, Prestige Learning Institute (PLI).

HWR is committed to mobilizing our city to welcome refugees with compassion, hope, and honor as they resettle and start a new life in Houston. PLI exists to glorify God by educating, equipping & ministering to immigrant and refugee families and empowering them to thrive in the U.S. ESL is one of their most sought-after services.

For more information, go to www.houstonwelcomesrefugees.org and www.prestigeinstitute.org.
All loose plate offerings and designated checks will be allocated to this special offering. Checks should be made out to First Presbyterian Church with the “World Communion Offering”.
